We grew out of a problem we know firsthand.
Where this started
Green Mountain Scanning grew out of a problem we know firsthand. Over the years, we've helped family members move, downsize, and settle estates. And more than once, we've encountered the same question: What do we do with all this paper?
Filing cabinets. Desk drawers. Boxes in basements and closets. Decades of financial records, medical information, insurance documents, tax returns, household records, and paperwork from businesses and properties long since sold.
Some of it might still be important. Much of it probably isn't. But determining which is which means going through decades of someone's life one piece of paper at a time. We've done it. It's overwhelming.
There had to be a better way.
Packing all of that paper and moving it to the next home didn't make sense. Neither did paying to store it indefinitely. And throwing it away without knowing what might someday be needed wasn't a comfortable answer either.
There was another option: Keep the information. Lose the paper. That's the idea behind Green Mountain Scanning.
Personal experience with the problem. Professional experience with the solution.
We didn't come to this simply as people who had experienced the problem. We also came to it as individuals with professional document scanning experience — including years of experience digitizing files for law firms.
We know how to efficiently convert large volumes of paper into useful digital files that can be preserved and accessed when needed. That combination — personal experience with the problem and professional experience with the solution — is what led to Green Mountain Scanning.
